Who we are

I'm John Nanna, founder of Local Fresh Bag. I love shopping at farmer's markets and have a couple of regular places my family and I visit here in San Antonio, TX.

But whenever I talked with the farmers, growers and buyers I met there, I realised how difficult it was for people on both sides of the table to connect outside of market days, even though there was a desire from growers and buyers to do regular business without stores and supermarkets being involved.

Farmers and growers want regular, reliable sales – and a way to manage those orders more easily – while shoppers and families who care about healthy, local produce want to be able to buy directly from the farmers and growers. So why should everyone have to wait until market day comes around? That's why we built Local Fresh Bag.

You are able to list any and all of your fruits, vegetables, meats, and goods. With just a few clicks you can sell your produce and meat by the basket, box, pound, or even by dynamic weight ranges for pre portioned meats.

You can set up your own delivery rates. We currently suggest a flat rate for all orders and recommend you reach out to customers to inform them when they can expect to receive the delivery.

Yes, we encourage this. You can add any/all of your pickup locations as well as the days/times you will be there. Customers will be able to select any location at checkout for pickup as well as select the pickup date.

Not at this time, we are currently focussed on keeping everything local during the first phase of this platform. We are looking into options for this that may be released later this year.

Literally just minutes. Once you signup, you will be approved manually, and then you can sell online. We are here to help you along the way. We will help you get your products listed, delivery settings, and pickup locations.

As we bring on growers in each area, we will begin to advertise in those areas via social media and digital marketing channels. Our goal is to be more than just a sales platform, overtime we will be working on building more tools to support grower operation. We are focussed on being your technical partner for the long run.

We are in the process of submitting our platform for approval to collect SNAP/EBT payments. It's incredibly important that we use this platform to solve the food accessibility problems across the United States.

Local Fresh Bag uses Stripe as our trusted payment processing partner. You will receive payments for each month's orders on the 1st and 15th of the month via Stripe.
